Pataula Charter Academy, INC. is seeking a New Charter School Administrator

 

Pataula Charter Academy (PCA) is seeking a lead administrator to help plan and start a new charter school based on the successful model of PCA. The administrator would work at Pataula Charter Academy located in Edison, GA for one year to learn the model and help plan the new school. The administrator would then lead the new school to open in fall 2019.  The location for the new school has not yet been determined, but will likely be in Decatur or Miller counties.

 

Qualifications: GAPSC teaching certification required; Master’s or Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership preferred; GAPSC Educational Leadership certification preferred

 

Experience: Teaching experience required; building-level administration experience preferred; experience opening a new school or starting a new program preferred

 

Salary and Benefits: PCA uses the GA DOE state salary schedule; administration supplement based on experience; PCA contributes to Georgia TRS, offers State Health Benefit Plan insurance, and offers optional, supplemental group insurance and 403b plans

 

Expectations include: 12 month employee; Support district-wide vision, mission and academic goals; effective and appropriate communication/relationship with all stakeholders; self-driven and motivated to achieve excellence in all aspects of his/her job responsibilities; ability to multi-task and efficiently handle multiple work streams at one time; detail-oriented and conscientious of deadlines and compliance guidelines; knowledge and understanding of charter school law, federal education laws, applicable state laws and State Board Rules; knowledge and ability to implement leadership and teaching best practices; excellent oral and written communication skills.

Head Baseball OR Basketball Coach/K-8 PE:

Pataula Charter Academy is taking applications for Head Baseball or Basketball Coach for the 2018-2019 school year. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics:

Qualifications:  Applicants should be eligible for Georgia certification in Physical Education.  The teaching assignment for this coaching position will be K-8 PE.

Salary:  State salary scale, coaching supplement, benefits package, and local supplement

Experience:  Head Coach and/or Assistant Baseball or Basketball Coaching Experience, as well as the ability to coach a second sport preferred.

Expectations include:  Ability to develop and maintain a successful high school baseball or basketball program; supporting district-wide vision, mission and academic goals; effective and appropriate communication/relationship with school system leaders, colleagues, students, parents and community members; strong comprehension and ability to implement all GHSA rules and regulations; collaboration with school leadership to develop game and practice schedules; supporting academic needs of students; and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Young Farmer/Work-Based Learning Teacher Position:

 

Pataula Charter Academy is accepting applications for a Young Farmer/Work-Based Learning Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year:

 

Qualifications: Applicants should be eligible for Georgia certification in Agriculture Education and must attend WBL training before August 1, if not already completed within the last five years.

 

Salary: State salary scale, benefits package, and local supplement

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach agricultural education classes for secondary students during the school year; provide educational instruction and opportunities to individuals engaged in the agricultural industry which will increase their proficiency in agricultural production, management, agribusiness and leadership. Provide enhanced educational opportunities for students by developing business and community partnerships resulting in work-based learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, job-shadowing, and/or clinicals. Develop positive school and community relations and create a culture of business engagement in all programs.
