ANNUAL NOTICE for new parents:

Dear PCA Volunteer,

All volunteers at public schools are considered mandated reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect and are required by law to receive training.  The training is a free, on-line course.  You can access the course, “Child Abuse and Neglect: Mandated Reporting Requirements for Employees, Volunteers, and Contractors of Georgia Public Schools” at the following link: https://www.prosolutionstraining.com/store/product/?tProductVersion_id=973  The course gives you valuable information on recognizing signs of abuse/neglect and how to handle the situation when abuse/neglect is disclosed to you or suspected by you.  If you do not have internet access at home, you may complete the training in one of our computer labs at school during regular school hours.  After you have completed the course, you must bring your transcript to the school as a record that you have met the requirement.  No one will be allowed to volunteer, coach, or chaperone without a record of training being completed.

PCA has “Designated Reporters” that make all reports of suspected abuse to DFACS.  You have fulfilled your role as mandated reporter by informing a designated reporter of your suspicions.  The designated reporter for elementary students is Kylie Holley and for middle/high students is Jim Morrell.  All reports of suspected abuse and/or neglect should be made to one of them immediately.  If you are unable to make a report to one of them immediately, please follow the guidelines outlined in the training to make the report to DFACS yourself within the 24 hour time period.

Thank you for helping ensure that all of our children are safe and for volunteering your time at PCA.

Sincerely,

Kylie Holley

Superintendent
